People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; be successful anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous; be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

Belonging to God, and having a personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ is the most important and meaningful thing in all of life.

As a Christian, we no longer belong to ourselves, but to God, who purchased us as a prized possession, through the gracious giving of His Son.

I asked God to grant me patience.   God said, No.    Patience is a by-product of
tribulations;  it isn't granted, it is earned.

I asked God to give me happiness.   God said, No.   I give you blessings.
Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.   God said, No.   Suffering draws you apart from
worldly cares and brings you closer to Me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.   God said, No.  You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.   God said, No.   I will give you life
so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me love others,  as much as He loves me.
God said ..... Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
I ASKED GOD

The young man was at the end of his rope.  Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer.   "Lord, I can't go on," he said.   “I have too heavy a cross to bear.”

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight,  just place your cross inside this room.  Then pick out any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief.   "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and did as he was told.   As he walked around the room,  he saw many crosses, some so large the tops were not visible.   Then, after much searching, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against the wall.   "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered.    And the Lord replied,  "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming,  it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with.   You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.
THE CROSS
THE DASH

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning ... to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between the years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...
and now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own; the cars ... the house ... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect, and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special dash might only last a while.

So, when your eulogy's being read with your life's actions to rehash...
would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash?
